Over her career she has worked as a teacher, workshop leader, trainer, writer, commercial artist, illustrator and fine artist. These days, other than for small forays into teaching, she is happily spending all of her time painting. As a graphic artist and illustrator Moira has designed and illustrated books, magazine articles, newspaper ads, posters and greeting cards. Her commercial career included everything from designing and illustrating Doodleart posters to producing logos, letterheads and marketing materials. She has written and illustrated numerous articles for gardening magazines and is the author and illustrator of two books, "The Tea Lover's Handbook" (Intermedia Press, 1980) and "Herbs For The Pacific Northwest" (Stellar Press, 2000). As a fine artist, her work has included pen and ink sketches, watercolors, silkscreen and digital prints, oils and acrylic paintings. She is currently painting almost exclusively in acrylics. Moira is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and of WomanMade Gallery, a non-profit organization supporting women in the arts. Her paintings are held in public and private collections in the United States and Canada. |
